The Sharon Parsons Foundation has been established to support a permanent youth camp located in Cumberland County to provide outdoor programs and camping opportunities to youth groups at no charge to those organizations. To do so, the Sharon Parsons Foundation, a 501C-3 nonprofit organization, purchased 22 acres in Cumberland County and started developing Camp Parsons in 2019.
The Sharon Parsons Foundation commemorates the love and dedication Mrs. Parsons had for all youth.
Mrs. Parsons, in addition to raising three children and working full-time, managed to be an active life member of the PTA, was co-founder of the King William Little League, and founding member of Boy Scout Troop 800. She served on Troop 800's board for 22 years until losing her battle with cancer in 2011. As the Advancement Chair, Mrs. Parsons guided over 100 scouts to the ultimate rank of Eagle. Many people relied on her for guidance, leadership and love as denoted by the many parents and scouts who declared their sincere appreciation of how she had such an impact on the lives of local youth. She is deeply missed by many.
The formation of the Sharon Parsons Foundation is a continuation of Sharon's energy, focus, impact and dedication to serving area youth.
